Raised Beds
Do you offer custom sized raised vegetable beds?
Yes! Just email us with the details for more information.
If I order more than one raised garden bed, how far apart should we install them?
When installing more than one garden bed, we recommend placing them at least 3-4 feet apart. This allows plenty of room to garden between each raised bed.
What type of materials do you use?
We use untreated pine for all our beds. While untreated lumber will break down over time, you can rest assured no chemicals will be leaking into the soil or your vegetables.
What are the prices for the raised vegetable bed gardens?
Our standard option is $400 and includes 27 cubic feet of compost to give your plants the nutrients to thrive. Our premium option is $550 and includes a mixture of 1/3 compost, 1/3 vermiculite, and 1/3 peat moss to go the extra mile for your plants and ensure you are getting the most out of your raised garden beds. All of our beds are 4′ by 8′ and 10″ high.
Do you prepare the area before installing the beds?
Yes, we will prepare the area for your garden installation. With 10” of soil, weeds will not be able to grow from the ground up. If there are shrubs or small trees that need to be chopped down and removed from the property with a large amount of debris, we will add a $100 fee.
I want to put my own beds together, but would like you to deliver the material and the soil.
Great, just contact us to let us know. Be sure you have your own tools (drill, wheelbarrow, shovels, etc) to finish the job and we’ll deliver everything you need to your home.
What is the difference between your raised beds and the ones available at big box retailers?
The ones at big box retailers are not as large as our beds and they also are only around 5″ high usually. Our beds are 10″ deep which gives the plants lots of room for the roots to grow with 10″ of organic compost that the plants thrive on. We fully install our beds, deliver the soil (the soil in each of our beds weighs a little over a ton), and prep the beds so they are ready for you to plant immediately.
Soil
How much soil does it take to fill one of your beds?
Our beds are 4’x8’ and 10” tall. In order to fill each bed, we use 27 cubic feet of soil. This weighs over one ton!
What can I grow in these beds?
Our soil mixture is perfect for vegetables, fruits, and flowers.
What is the difference in your standard soil and premium soil?
Our standard soil is organic compost and our premium soil is a mixture of 1/3 compost, 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 peat moss.
